Security conference
uses Airbus TETRA
Airbus provided the organisers of this year’s
Munich Security Conference with a “highly
modern” TETRA system. According to the
company, the components of the solution
included two base stations (TB3c and
TB3hp) located at the Bayerischer Hof
convention centre in central Munich, with a
third placed in the vicinity of the airport. A
fourth, meanwhile, was located in the plenary
hall of the Bavarian parliament during the
ceremony for the John McCain Award, which
is presented for academic achievement in
the eld. e system was used by around
120 personnel, who were responsible
for organising the conference, as well as
protecting visitors.
Speaking of the roll-out, Benedikt Franke,
the conference’s chief operating o cer, said:
“Since 2012, Airbus has served us with highly
reliable mobile communications services.”
Motorola pagers for
NW Ambulance trust
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust
– which is the second-largest in England –
is rolling out Motorola Solutions’ Advisor
TPG2200 TETRA two-way pagers to 450
of its volunteer rst-responders. According
to Motorola, the pagers are “lightweight
and compact” and can be integrated with
the trust’s existing command, control and
alerting systems. e device also has built-in
GPS receiver functionality. e ambulance
volunteers are trained by the service to
provide critical care in the time between the
999 call being received and the arrival of the
paramedic or ambulance on the scene.
“In those critical moments when every
second counts, rst-responders and control
rooms need to communicate quickly and
easily,” said Phil Je erson, vice-president
for Western Europe and North Africa at
Motorola Solutions.
German feds roll out
Si500 ‘video mic’
e German Federal Police are rolling out
Motorola Solutions’ Si500 video speaker
microphone. e device, according to the
company, combines the functionality of a
body-worn camera with that of a remote
speaker microphone, alongside a digital
evidence management software solution.
Two thousand three hundred devices will
be delivered by the end of 2020 as part
of the deployment. e digital evidence
management software will be used to securely
store captured footage and ensure that
the chain of evidence is preserved from its
capture, to its use in the courtroom.
Axel Kukuk, Germany country manager at
Motorola Solutions, commented: “ e Si500
provides a best-in-class solution to tackle
challenges faced by police o cers, and
increase the safety of both rst-responders
and citizens.”
