Teltronic installs
DMR in Andalusia

Teltronic, working in conjunction
with its local partner Comunitel
Radiocomunicaciones, has delivered a new
DMR-based digital communications system
to Autobuses Castillo in the Andalusian city
of Jaen. e company’s buses were previously
using a ve-tone PMR system.
e new system is comprised of 44
onboard radios, four base stations, a repeater
and three portable radios. Teltronic and
Comunitel Radiocomunicaciones also
installed the previous system, which had
remained fully operational and functional
for more than 20 years. e new system
went live following development to ensure
that it retained some of the characteristics of
the legacy network. In Teltronic’s words, “it
provides Autobuses Castillo with superior
audio quality, encryption and the potential to
implement new features in the future”.
Swedish police
plump for Sepura
e Swedish Police has chosen to refresh its
current eet of TETRA two-way radios with
Sepura’s TETRA devices, and these will be
supplied by the company’s regional partner,
Swedish Radio Supply. Under the terms of a
new agreement, deployment of the 22,000
devices will begin this May. It also includes
two years’ support for the radios with possible
future extensions.
e Swedish Police have chosen the SC21
TETRA hand-portable terminal, which is
smaller and lighter than their current handsets,
without any impact on features or ruggedness.
Swedish Radio Supply has supplied the
Swedish Police with products for the Rakel
TETRA network since the beginning of 2006.
In addition to the new agreement, Swedish
Radio Supply has an existing agreement with
the Swedish Police regarding service, support
and accessories for the current terminal eet.
DAMM provides
Bolivian tram comms
Communications for city tram lines in
Cochabamba, Bolivia are being provided by
DAMM in a joint project with ErvoCom.
DAMM will be providing a TetraFlex
infrastructure, consisting of 11 BS421
outdoor base stations, accommodating both
voice and data communication.
According to DAMM, factors in
ErvoCom’s choice of partner included the
“ exibility and scalability of the system,
combined with an open API, which allows
easy integration of customised applications
and external devices”. ErvoCom used the
aforementioned open API to integrate its
train dispatcher ‘TRADIS’ with its train radio
system TRS2090.
e project was started in August 2017 and
is expected to be completed by August of next
year. It was commissioned by Bolivia’s public
works, services and housing ministry.
