Airbus wins STEAG
expansion contract
Airbus has been chosen to modernise and
expand German energy supplier STEAG’s
seNet secure TETRA network, replacing
the system’s core technology with its Taira
TETRA servers.
e company predicts that this will
“thereby increase its capacity, making it more
reliable and e cient”. Airbus will also service
the network as well as maintaining it under a
ve-year contract.
Speaking of the partnership, Markus
Kolland, Airbus’s head of sales for Northern,
Central and Eastern Europe for Secure
Land Communications, said: “ anks to
its expertise, Airbus has equipped energy
suppliers worldwide with highly secure
communication systems. STEAG in Germany
bene ts from this experience, and uses stateof
the-art technology that can improve the
company’s overall operations.”
Motorola supplies kit
to German police
Motorola Solutions is supplying over 4,000
MTP6650 TETRA portable two-way radios
to police o cers in the German federal state
of Schleswig-Holstein, under a tender issued
by its central procurement o ce.
According to Motorola, Schleswig-
Holstein is the rst German state to equip
all of its police with the latest generation
of the company’s TETRA o ering. e
contract also includes a technical service and
maintenanceagreement.

Schleswig-Holstein reinforces our position
as a trusted market leader in providing
mission-critical communication solutions
to public safety organisations in Germany
and worldwide,” commented Axel
Kukuk, head of sales for Germany,
Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg at
Motorola Solutions.
ETELM announces
new chief executive
Radio specialist ETELM has appointed Nicolas
Hauswald as its CEO, following company
founder Pierre Minot’s move to become
president of the board.
Hauswald had previously been working
as ETELM’s sales and marketing director,
a role which began in 2016. Prior to this,
he held a range of senior sales positions for
rms including ERCOM and BAE Systems
Applied Intelligence. He began his career as a
telecommunications engineer.
Hauswald said: “It is a great honour to
be asked to step up to lead the company I
have been proud to be a part of for the past
few years. ere are fantastic opportunities
for ETELM to be a real leader in the eld as
LTE technologies develop, and I am looking
forward to helping drive the business forward.”
ETELM works across sectors including oil
and gas, transport and public safety.
