Motorola unveils
900MHz private
broadband solution
Motorola Solutions is developing a 900MHz
private broadband solution, which will give
critical infrastructure entities in the US access
to high-power, interoperable communications.
e development anticipates a regulatory
proceeding by the Federal Communications
Commission to realign the 900MHz band to
increase capacity for broadband use.
e solution will include infrastructure,
devices, software and service components to
address the end-to-end needs of utility, oil, gas
and other commercial customers. It will be
o ered in the “ exible commercial terms that
align with the market needs”. e company
said the high-power solution exceeds industry
standards for adjacent channel leakage ratio
and will reduce the risk of interference with
narrowband licence-holders.
Peru selects
Everbridge for
critical alerting
Everbridge has been selected by Peru’s Ministry
of Transportation and Communications
(MTC) to provide the technology that will
underpin Sistema de Mensajería de Alerta
Temprana de Emergencias (Sismate), the
country’s Early Warning Emergency
Messaging System.
Once the system is deployed, it will be used
by Peru’s National Institute of Civil Defense to
send critical messages to mobile phones before,
during and after major incidents. Sismate is
designed to serve more than 37 million people,
including Peru’s 33 million residents and four
million annual visitors.
e Everbridge Platform has been deployed
for national mobile device alerting in Sweden,
Iceland, the Netherlands, Singapore, Greece
and a number of the largest states in India.
Teltronic provides
TETRA network
in Brazil
Teltronic will deploy a TETRA-based private
communication network for the state of Ceará,
Brazil. e network will provide voice and
data services for emergency and public safety
agencies, including re ghters and civil and
military police, among others.
e company provides coverage to the
entire state using its TETRA NEBULA
infrastructure, as well as installing radio
terminals and CeCoCo, its control
centre solution.
Once the deployment and installation are
completed, the tender also includes a fouryear
managed operation and maintenance
service worth 118 million Brazilian reais
(approximately 25 million euros).
