Hytera and Mobilis
win Romanian deal
Hytera Mobilfunk and its partner Mobilis
have signed a framework agreement to deliver
up to 8,050 PD565 DMR handheld radios
for use at military support points in Romania
within the next three years. e tender was
awarded by the Romanian Defence Ministry.
Marco Martinato, VP of sales for Eastern
Europe at Hytera Mobilfunk, said: “ is is
a fabulous shared success. We have worked
together with Mobilis for many years and we
will continue to build this relationship. We
are delighted that we were able to convince
the Defence Ministry of the quality and great
reliability of our devices. We see great potential
for the market in Romania.”
According to Hytera Mobilfunk,
the PD565 has a compact design and
is convenient to operate. It supports
conventional DMR, and can also be operated
in analogue mode.
Motorola to supply
police in Romania
Motorola Solutions has announced that it will
deliver 10,000 portable TETRA MTP3550
two-way radios to the General Inspectorate
of the Romanian Police. e roll-out will
take place as part of an 18-month framework
contract awarded to the industry giant’s local
partner, ASTI International.
Speaking of the agreement, vice-president
for Nordics, Russia and Eastern Europe at
Motorola Solutions, Michael Kaae, said:
“We are extremely proud that the Romanian
Police continues to see us as a trusted partner,
and we remain committed to help keeping
Romanian citizens and rst-responders safe.”
Motorola claims that the MTP3000
series provides improved performance
when operating at extreme range and
inside buildings, together with enhanced
connectivity and ruggedness. e series also
o ers man-down functionality.
Beijing airport picks
Airbus for TETRA
Beijing Daxing Airport – which is due to
open in September – has announced that it
will support its operations with a TETRA
network provided by Airbus. e company
will provide a single TETRA DXTA server
across the course of the roll-out, alongside
nine TB3 base stations, with eight TTRX
32-channel receivers per station.
For additional resilience – as well as
enhanced communications and management
– the TETRA networks at both it and its
neighbour Beijing Capital International
Airport (which has been using its own
Airbus TETRA network since 2008) will
be fully interconnected and back each other
up. Tests performed in April have proved
interconnectivity between the two sites.
Beijing Daxing Airport will have eight
runways and serve around 100 million
passengers a year.
