Hybrid TETRA 5G
network live in China
Airbus has successfully demonstrated full
interoperability between a 5G network and
TETRA in Guangzhou, China.
e trial connected 5G smartphones and
terminals for the Guangzhou government’s
shared radio network with China Telecom’s
5G network. Using Airbus’s Tactilon Agnet
application, end-users from the Guangzhou
government agencies are now experiencing full
interoperability between those on the TETRA
network and those using 5G.
Users are now bene ting from seamless
voice and data services, including group and
individual calls, messaging services, video and
data sharing, geo-positioning and push-totalk
features.
e Guangzhou Government Shared
Radio Network is one of the biggest city-wide
TETRA networks in the world. It serves more
than 50,000 subscribers.
ESChat unlocked for
US T-Mobile users
ESChat has launched its broadband push-totalk
(PTT) service on the T-Mobile network.
ESChat customers on T-Mobile can now
communicate with other ESChat users on any
other wireless network without the need for
hardware gateways or special software versions.
e PTT service is priced at $5/month
and includes secure push-to-talk, live location
tracking and mapping, and secure group
multimedia messaging. It supports Android
and iOS smartphones, a limited selection of
‘basic’ phones and Windows PCs.
T-Mobile customers also have access to
Land Mobile Radio integration using radio
over IP, ISSI (P25 inter radio frequency
subsystem interface) and application interface
speci cation interfaces, mission-critical call
recording/logging using SIPREC or span-port
interfaces, and CAD and Console interfaces
using console subsystem interface and AIS.
Motorola gives WAVE
PTX to the Aussies
Motorola Solutions’ WAVE PTX Government
communications service is now available in
Australia. e service aims to extend the reach
of mission-critical radio systems, provide
interoperable voice and multimedia services,
and connect multiple public safety agencies to
secure real-time voice and data.
WAVE PTX Government also provides a
set of features based on the 3GPP MCPTT
standard, including multimedia messaging,
emergency calling and remote monitoring.
“Public safety agencies need reliable voice
and multimedia communication to form
a clear picture of what’s happening on the
ground,” said Con Balaskas, managing director
for Australia and New Zealand at Motorola
Solutions. “WAVE PTX Government enables
rst-responders to communicate easily,
regardless of whether they use a two-way radio,
smartphone or other device.”
